Walkin Her Home

It was early evening
when he stopped by
he was taking her out for the first time
and her dad said "son, have her home on time.
and promise me you'll never leave her side!"

He took her to the show in town
and he was ten feet off the ground

as he was walkin her home
holdin her hand
all the way she smiled and took the breathe right outa him
on that old road
with the stars up above
he remembers where he was and taht he fell in love
he was walkin her home

Ten years later in a waiting room
at half past one
when the doctor said "come in and meet your son"
and his knees went weak
when he saw his wife
she was smiling as she siad "he's got your eyes"

all night long he held her tight
and his mind went back to that first night

when he was walkin her home
holdin her hand
all the way she smiled and stole the breathe right outa him
on that old road
with the stars up above
he remembers were he was and that he fell in love
he was walking her home

he walked her through the best days of her life
sixty years and he never left her side

later in the nursing home
at eighty-five
and the doctors said this could be her last night
and the nurse said "should we tell him now?
or should he wait until the morning to find out?"

and when they checked her room that night
he was laying by her side

and he was walking her home
holding her hand
all the way she smiled when he said "this is not the end"
just for awhile
they were eighteen
and she was still more beautiful to him than anything
he was walking her home

today marks the day of our
FIRST REAL SNOW!!
no there is NO snow on the ground... but there is a PILE of snow in the air!!
( I'm hoping the snow and the ground can reach an agreement before long!)

IN OTHER NEWS: the LONG STORY

So the other night (one of the coldest nights we've had in a LONG time here in PA) I went to bed at 9:00 - don't even ask what's up with that INSANELY early time!

I woke up at about 4:00 A.M. shaking SEMI-violently
partly CUz I"m weird but mostly because I was suddenly VERY chilled!
however, being the kind of person who doens't just get out of bed for nothing, so I snuggle in a little more and go right back to my beautiful sleep! :)

I was rudely awakened once again at about 8:00 a.m.
and this time I was REALLY REALLY chilled!
I could not for the LIFE of me figure out why my house had turned into a FREEZER!

So, I checked the thermostat upstairs
63 DEGREES!!..
( for those of u who are Celcious ppl... thats VERY COLD!)
I was like "AH!  what the world!" - so I crank it!

Making my way downstairs to see if the same problem was there...
I made it half way down the stairs and I
FROZE!
literally, by the time I got to the bottom of the stairs I could feel cold air coming out of the carpet and floors
I might as well have been outside
I immediately checked the thermostat downstairs
50!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FIFTY DEGREES! (for those of you Celcius ppl.. that is VERY VERY VERY COLD!)

I ran back upstairs at lightening speed and put on ALL the warmest clothes I could find
than i went back downstiard to see what the WORLD was wrong with my house!

as I rounded the corner I saw
my FRONT DOOR was standing WIDE OPEN!.. and I mean WIDE OPEN!!..
and I had locked it the night before!

my first thought was BEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
however... there was no big furry animal sitting at my kitchen table or sleeping on my couch so....

BOTTOM LINE
- I must not have closed the door tight when I locked it
- it was windy at about 10:30 p.m. that night
- the wind blew the door open and turned my house into a very large freezer
and

I COUGHT A MOUSE IN MY TRAP!!!
sad to say I don't think its the one I wanted but hey... I GOT HIM! ha ha!
